Like all great heroes, Rick Castañeda started out as a tiny spermatozoon, swimming upstream in the fight for life. Ever since, he’s been pursuing the ends of his fantastic imagination. Having studied literature at the University of Sussex in England, film at NYU, and business at the University of Texas at Austin, he graduated from the University of Southern California with a major in Creative Writing.

Rick has learned many lessons in independent film as a writer, director, editor, motion designer, P.A., producer, executive producer, animator, actor, and gentle soul. Co-founding Psychic Bunny in 2004, his short films and music videos have been screened all over the world, from festivals in Japan, Canada, and Romania to his very own country, playing SXSW, the Waterfront Film Festival, and Florida International Film Festival.

Always eager to create content, he makes a short every month or so with Six Finger Fist, a comedy sketch team that has been recognized and congratulated by YouTube, Crackle, and Funny or Die.

His latest work, a 10-episode web series about a man in a coma, should debut online very, very soon. It’s his largest and most original work yet, and it’s called “Coma, Period.” You can totally learn all about it on this website. That’s the internet for you, Jeeves.
