Jesse Vigil, Estonian gangster, c. 2008
Jesse Vigil is a writer, game designer, and filmmaker who spent the last twenty minutes trying to think of something snarky to write here to one-up the bios his partners wrote. Lacking the aforementioned snarkiness, here are some interesting facts:
Jesse’s creative experience includes three years as a “journalist” for a major newspaper as a kind of low-rent teenage Dave Barry, countless stage productions where his credits ranged from actor, stage manager, visual effects designer, puppeteer, and “waterworks,” a heavy metal band, a number of films, a few things here and there, and most recently as a witer and designer of games, including two games commissioned by and for the US Army.
Jesse is a twice-alumnus of the University of Southern California, completing his BA in Cinema-Television Production in 2003 and his MFA in Interactive Media in 2008. Jesse co-founded Psychic Bunny in 2004 with the other mugs you see here and is pleased to now be a partner in Lead Balloon.
Jesse’s most recent game, an online CCG about high school civics, will be featured at SIGGRAPH 2009, where he will also be co-presenting a paper on the design process. Meanwhile, he is at work on the script for Lead Ballon’s next feature “Midnight Daisy,” and on several unannounced game projects.
